Cllr Marie Therese Gallagher
28 year old, Donegal County Councillor, Marie Therese Gallagher is one of Sinn Féin's candidates for the Glenties Electoral Area in the upcoming Donegal County Council election. She is a member of the Sinn Féin team on Donegal County Council.
Prior to commencing her current full time role as a public representative, Marie Therese worked in the hotel business in her local town Dungloe.
Marie Therese has lived in west Donegal all her life, while growing up she witnessed the neglect of rural towns and villages and the demise of sustainable employment which rural populations relied on to survive, these factors along with many others inspired Marie Therese to join the Sinn Féin party in 2002.
Co-opted to the seat vacated by Senator Pearse Doherty to represent the people of West-Donegal in September 2007, Marie Therese has relished her position with pride and has continually been vocal on local issues concerning the electorate.
