Donegal County Councillor, Pádraig Mac Lochlainn has applauded the Moville playground committee on their recent success in opening the new playground on the town's shore green. In a joint response to the Government's 'Report of the Interdepartmental Group on Donegal', Sinn Féin election candidates Pádraig Mac Lochlainn and Pearse Doherty have labelled the report as a "damp squib". The two Donegal County Councillors had been in attendance at the launch of the report in Lifford, last Friday and had expressed their profound disappointment directly to Minister Míchael Martin and the Government. They later described the launch as an "embarrassing back slapping exercise". Read full article

Sinn Fiin Councillor Padraig MacLochlainn, speaking following the decision of Niall Blaney to leave Independent Fianna Fail and join Fianna Fail, said:
I would like to begin by wishing Niall well. His decision to leave Independent Fianna Fail and join Fianna Fail will come as a surprise to very few people as he has been a constant supporter of the government since he was elected to the Dail in 2002 sometimes more so than those on the Fianna Fail back benches. Despite submitting a phasing report to the department a number of months ago the Killybegs Sewerage Scheme has not received approval to go to tender. Phase 1 of the scheme includes the provision of the outfall, main pumping station, town centre domestic and non-domestic network, the specialist industrial network and associated pumping stations. That was the response to a question placed at Mondays council meeting by Sinn Fein Cllr. Thomas Pringle. Read full article

Sinn Féin councillor Pádraig Mac Lochlainn has welcomed a commitment to the sustainable development of villages and small towns such as St Johnston, Manorcunningham, Newtowncunningham, Ramelton, Kilmacrennan, Churchill and the border villages of Bridgend, Burnfoot, Killea, Carrigans, and Muff in the new Donegal County Development Plan.
