24 hour street lighting in Ramelton only a temporary measurePublished: 25 September, 2006 After been contacted by residents in Ramelton asking why street lighting was on 24 hours a day the Sinn Féin Representative for the Milford Electoral Donal Cullen contacted the E.S.B in Sligo seeking clarity on why the street lighting on the stretch of road from the Catholic Church to the end of the new development is on 24 hours a day and who is paying for this.
Donal said:
'I spoke to Paul Doherty the person who is in charge of Public Lighting in Sligo and he has informed me that a contractor had requested the use of the supply in the short term to facilitate the on going work. This work should be completed shortly and the lighting returned to normal. No extra cost will be levied on the residents as the E.S.B. are paid flat rate by the council for street lighting supply.
