Mayor of Buncrana delighted for nearest city
Mayor of Buncrana and Deputy Mayor of Donegal Cllr Padraig MacLochlainn has paid tribute to the people of Derry and the organisers of their successful bid to named 'City of Culture 2013'.
Mayor MacLochlainn said;
"The community in Buncrana and Inishowen are absolutely thrilled for our nearest neighbours and their worthy achievement of being named 'City of Culture 2013'. Indeed Buncrana Town Council actively supported Derry's campaign to be awarded this title.
"With Derry being such a short distance from our town we look forward to joining in the festivities and celebrating with our neighbours.
"We look forward to the continued partnership of our towns for the mutual benefits of all the people in this part of Ireland."
