SINN FÉIN WELCOMES ROAD WORKS AT CARRIGART

Published: 23 August, 2006

Donal Cullen the Sinn Féin representative for the Milford Electoral Area has welcomed the road works being carried out at present in Carrigart from the Presbyterian Church to the Health Centre. He had made a request back in January of this year to the Donegal Councils Roads Department following complaints by local people using the footpath at the day centre.

The Sinn Féin Rep. said:
"I contacted the Roads Department back in January of this year following complaints by people about the road side flooding outside Cluaid Housing on the Milford to Carrigart Road. Passing cars sent heavy sprays of dirty water across the footpath soaking the pedestrians who had to take evasive action to avoid been drenched".

"I was assured by the engineer in charge of roads for the area that storm drains would be put in place and the road resurfaced before the end of the year. He was as good as his word and this work has now been completed. Anyone now using the footpath can do so safely".
