Personal Debt on the increase.
Following contact with the Buncrana Money, Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS), Buncrana Sinn Fein Town Councilor Lalor called for increased awareness regarding debt advice in the community.
Councilor Lalor said, Unfortunately the Sinn Fein Advice Centre in Buncrana has witnessed an alarming increase in the number of people struggling to deal with personal debt, due to their changing economic circumstances over the last few months.
I ask all those who feel they cannot keep up credit payments to seek expert advice immediately. With alarming statistics showing an increase in those seeking help from their local Community Welfare Officer and St. Vincent De Paul office, it is imperative that help is sought at the earliest possible convenience.
Those within our community who feel under financial pressure can be assured of free, confidential advice and assistance from their local Money, Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS), in Buncrana.074 9321856.
