Doherty wishes Dinny well as he decides not to contest General Election
Published: 7 June, 2006
Sinn Féin County Cllr and General Election Candidate has wished Dinny McGinley success for the future.
Cllr Doherty was speaking following the announcement that the Fine Gael TD would not be contesting the next general election.
Cllr. Doherty said
"I would like to wish Dinny McGinley success and happiness in whatever path he chooses after his time as TD for Donegal South West. To be elected by the people of Donegal South West, time after time, for the past twenty-five years is a massive achievement and is a great record to have leaving electoral politics. While Dinny and I hold different political views, he has always been a friendly face and a welcome ally in efforts to develop the constituency. In my view he has clearly earned the title of a gentleman.
