DONEGAL SINN FÉIN TO HOLD TWO MORE CONVENTIONS NEXT WEEKEND

Donegal Sinn Féin have confirmed that the conventions to select their candidates for Letterkenny Town Council and the Letterkenny/Milford Electoral Area of Donegal County Council will take place next Sunday 19th October at 4pm in the Silver Tassie Hotel, Ramelton Rd, Letterkenny.

There are two candidates for the party's nomination in the Letterkenny/Milford Electoral Area, Mick Quinn and Sean O Donnell, both from Churchill. The likely Sinn Féin candidate for Letterkenny Town Council will be sitting councillor, Gerry McMonagle.

Speaking ahead of the event, Sinn Féin Donegal County Councillor, Pádraig Mac Lochlainn said:

"Our party look forward to the convention with a sense of determination. The reconfiguration of the old Milford and Letterkenny county council electoral areas gives us a real opportunity to both consolidate our level of representation to Letterkenny Town and elect a representative for the entire Milford Electoral Area for the first time".

"Once our candidates are formally selected next Sunday, our campaign commences. We will be taking that campaign to every street and townland in the area. We will present an alternative vision for our county to the economic mismanagement and neglect that the people here have experienced, particularly in recent times".
