Inishowen Sinn Féin's election convention this Sunday

Chairperson of Sinn Féin Inis Eoghain, Tony Doherty has confirmed that the convention to select the party's candidates in the Inishowen Electoral Area for next year's election to Donegal County Council, takes place this Sunday 14th September in Simpsons function room, Tul Na Ri, Carndonagh at 5pm.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Killea based Chairperson said:

"We enter into this convention with confidence. Last year, over 4500 voters across Inishowen gave our candidate, Pádraig Mac Lochlainn their first preference support. It is clear that we have a real opportunity to elect a second county councillor with that level of support".

"Since that superb result, we have delivered a constituency office to support the people of Inishowen, now open over a year. Our two councillors Daren Lalor and Pádraig Mac Lochlainn have reported an extremely busy year and our members across Inishowen have maintained the office through their fundraising efforts, worked hand in hand with our elected representatives to deliver for their communities, and continued to campaign on a range of issues"

"As soon as the convention ends on Sunday, our election campaign begins. We are determined to elect more Sinn Féin representatives onto Donegal County Council and Buncrana Town Council next year"
